Well folks, the view from my window has changed spectacularly over the last two weeks. The maples took a while to turn, but once they started …
Going, going, gone. And now I am thankful for this kind of mid-day gloom. A time of rest, a time of quiet. Learn from those big old maples!
I have loved this view from my window. It has been amazing to see the seasons displayed so vividly. And all the sights down on the water floating by – big shining white ferries gliding like stately cream-cakes. A plucky little red and black tugboat dragging huge logfloats or wheat-colored piles of sawdust. The occasional grand passenger liner. All the little boats making white foam tracks. A whole world contained in one frame of view.
Soon there will be a new view from my window to get to know. We are moving this weekend to a small cottage in the woods. A lot of downscaling and simplifying to get done – hurray!
