autumn pleasures

I thought I would share a few of our autumn island pleasures with you:

– the smell of freshly chopped wood at dusk, even better when you have bucked and hauled it from a real tree yourself.

Wood

– maples turning yellow (I have fallen in love with these magnificent trees).

Golden maples

– bronze splotches on a green carpet.

Leaves

– picking apples on your birthday.

Picking apples

– fungi!

Mushrooms

Here’s to embracing the season, embracing the today.

About islandsundays
